This strain is the classic farmhouse ale yeast. A traditional yeast that is spicy with complex aromatics, including bubble gum.

It is very tart and dry on the palate with a mild fruitiness. Expect a crisp, mildly acidic finish that will benefit from elevated fermentation temperatures. This strain is notorious for a rapid and vigorous start to fermentation, only to stick around 1.035 S.G. Fermentation will finish, given time and warm temperatures.

Warm fermentation temperatures, at least 90°F (32°C), or the use of a secondary strain can accelerate attenuation.

Denna gjorde vår amarillo single hop pale ale till en mer spännande och fruktig öl. Mäskar man runt 65 och låter den jäsa ut bra får man en torr fast ändå fruktig och fyllig öl. Mycket uppskattat

The name Wyeast means a lot to our region, because it's the Native American name for Mt. Hood. According to legend, there was an epic battle between two brothers, Wyeast and Klickitat, over the beautiful Loowit. The struggle was so fierce that the Great Spirit transformed them all into mountains. Klickitat became Mt. Adams, Loowit became Mount St. Helens, and Wyeast became Mt. Hood. This region is rich in craft beverage and fermentation culture, and home to some of the best breweries in the world. Since 1986 Wyeast Laboratories in Hood River, Oregon, USA has been leading the way by providing premium fermentation products.
